Dave Webb has an extensive background in management and marketing, with more
than 25 years of executive experience in staff and line positions.
As a GMT principal, he helps clients in a wide range of industries to dramatically
increase their degree of insight into the dynamics of their marketplaceas well as
create information-based models that help them to test assumptions and scenarios as
they plan for the future.
He has 15 years experience working directly with Big Box Retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe's, and Wal-Mart.
That includes conducting end-user research of their shoppers in the aisle for about 75% of their category assortments.
This type of work helped Big Box Merchants develop line-review decisions/plans, including which brands to offer,
as well as when to switch to private-label and when to backward integrate. For Manufacturing Vendors, it meant
developing channel/end-user strategies, as saturation has made the Big Box Retailers a mature business mix,
and, therefore, less attractive as a future source of growth.
Dave has facilitated the market insight and strategic planning processes for a
variety of clients, including consumer products and industrial manufacturers, and wholesale distributors.
Before joining GMT, Dave was an internal management consultant with Alcoa, where he developed a
leading-edge competitive intelligence system.
